As China says President Xi's visit to Moscow is all part of its efforts to broker peace, on Vladimir Putin's ICC arrest warrant, a more nuanced tone was struck.

Spokesman Wang Wenbin said the International Criminal Court "should take an objective position", that it should "avoid double standards" and "steer clear of politicising".
