Herschel Walker is making headlines for his incomprehensible explanation of how he believes air pollution works. “We, in America, have some of the cleanest air and cleanest water of anybody in the world,” the former football player told supporters at a recent rally. “Since we don’t control the air, our good air decides to float over to China’s bad air,” Walker explained to the crowd.

Herschel Walker Wont Fix Air Pollution Because The Good Air Will Decide To Float To China
As China makes last minute preparations to host the Olympics, the environment is proving to be one major wild card that Chinese leaders cannot totally control. Olympic host city Beijing has some of the most polluted air in the world. Despite measures aimed at clearing the skies, the air is still a disturbing murky gray. Stephanie Ho reports from the Chinese capital.
Of the 10 cities around the world with the most-polluted air, the World Health Organization says, seven are in China. The WSJ's Diana Jou spotlights AirWaves, a prototype pollution mask that measures air quality and records real-time information.

The mining and processing of Earth Elements in northern China has caused years of toxic leaking into surrounding water sources.
A tailings pond lies on the west of the Chinese city Baotou, one filled with a black grey sludge of toxic and radioactive material.
It is the by-product of rare earth processing - elements vital to solar energy, wind farms and other alternative energy sources. It is open to the air but worse it is seeping into the ground below, poisoning the water.
Sky's China Correspondent Tom Cheshire was followed when he tried to gather more information.

For much of the past month, a huge swathe of northern China has been shrouded in a thick layer of toxic smog. Pollution has reached such high levels that Beijing's met office this week issued a warning against venturing out into the snow because of fears it's dangerously contaminated. With pollution now thought to be the cause of more than a million premature deaths a year, our correspondent John Sudworth travelled to China's most polluted city

Total CO2 emissions (million tonnes): This is the total amount of carbon emissions the world has produced, in millions of tonnes, since the industrial revolution began. Every time coal, gas, oil or wood is burnt, that number will increase and add to the warming number.

The thicker layer of greenhouse gases traps more heat.
This result in an increase in average temperature of the earth and the earth becomes hotter and hotter.
This is called global warming.
If we do not take steps to reduce global warming, it will lead to loss of human lives, plants and animals.
Steps to reduce global warming:
Plant more trees. Reduce, reuse and recycle. Use less hot water. Turn off electronic devices when not in use. Spread awareness.

United Nations chief Antonio Guterres says a major new report on climate change is a "survival guide for humanity".
Clean energy and technology can be exploited to avoid the growing climate disaster, the report says.
But at a meeting in Switzerland to agree their findings, climate scientists warned a key global temperature goal will likely be missed.
