Piers Morgan doubles down on Meghan Markle criticism after “Good Morning Britain” exit

Piers Morgan, the British TV presenter who has just lost his high-profile ITV Good Morning Britain job over attacks and long-running criticism on Meghan Markle, doubled-down on Wednesday, saying he "believes in free speech," and still did not believe what she had said during her interview with her husband Prince Harry, and Oprah Winfrey.

Morgan told journalists outside his home: "I don’t believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth. I think the damage she’s done to the British monarchy and to the Queen at a time when Prince Philip is lying in hospital is enormous and, frankly contemptible."

The morning after the Oprah interview, Morgan had stormed off the set of the live Good Morning Britain program when challenged by a co-presenter about his stance, and later ITV said he was leaving.
