Global National: May 25, 2021 | Manitoba’s health system on verge of collapse amid COVID-19 crisis

On this episode of Global National: The federal government is sending health workers and other help to Manitoba, as an ongoing surge of COVID-19 cases puts the province’s health system on the verge of collapse. As Brittany Greenslade reports, hospitals are struggling, and restrictions are being extended.

But in British Columbia, that province is making progress in the fight against COVID-19 and has revealed its gradual plan to reopen. Eric Sorensen reports on the four-phase strategy to return to normalcy and how it compares to other provinces’ plans.

In the U.S., it’s been one year since the death of George Floyd sparked a worldwide reckoning on racial injustice and police brutality. So what’s changed? Jackson Proskow reports.
