Manitoba’s top doctor Brent Roussin on Monday said that while cases of COVID-19 in the province were seeing a decrease, it was not a time to relax on restrictions currently in place. He said 118 new cases had been recorded and five new deaths on Monday.
Roussin’s comments came during a COVID-19 update alongside Manitoba Shared Health’s chief nursing officer Lanette Siragusa.
During the briefing, Roussin also said the province still had not seen a case of the COVID-19 variant first identified in the United Kingdom and advised people to continue abiding by travel guidance, including proper testing both prior to and upon arrival in the country.
